modern day slavery

Some of us experience our human right to freedom, and use this freedom to progress and grow personally and/or professionally. Meanwhile in the 21st century, others still do not have the freedom of their bodies, time or life.

Authentic State supports the abolition of modern-day slavery through donating a portion of our healing work profits to our partner charity A21.org. We do this as a gesture towards ‘do to others as you would have others do to you’. This statement is the single, greatest shared moral code on earth. It crosses time, religions, ethnicity and morality across our world.

See below on how you can help modern day slavery through making simple informed choices in your everyday life.

Today 40 million people are estimated to be trapped in modern slavery worldwide, 1 in 4 of them are children, almost three quarters (71%) are women and girls (1).

This is an astounding number of people who do not have the freedom and right to their own minds and bodies.

Australians may also be inadvertently supporting slavery in global and domestic supply chains through the purchase and use of goods and services. This includes many every day products like tea, electronics, cars and clothing.

Another way to support freedom is to download (and use) an app to help you make informed purchasing decisions.

Good On You App helps you check if fashion brands have ethical policies regarding modern slavery and child labour.

Made in a Free World evaluates and tracks slavery in your supply chain by assessing your purchases and suppliers.
